Kerry Norman E-Mail Address: knorman@cord.edu Kerry Norman became the third head coach in the history of the Concordia women's hockey program on May 3, 2002. The women's hockey program, which started as a club team during the 1998-99 season, has been a full-time varsity program for four full seasons. The team reached its highest point in the 2001-02, when it finished fourth in the MIAC and reached the league playoffs. Norman came to Concordia after serving as the head girls' varsity coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School in western Massachusetts. A native of Cortland, N.Y., Norman coached at Northfield Mount Hermon from 1998-2002. She earned her undergraduate and master's degree in Counseling and Human Development from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. As a player at St. Lawrence - an NCAA Division I school - Norman was a four year letter-winner and was on the Dean's list, while also lettering in field hockey and lacrosse. After college Norman went on to play for the Brattleboro women's senior hockey team in Brattleboro, Ver. She then went on to earn her M.Ed (Counseling and Human Development) at St. Lawrence University, graduating again in 1995. Norman began her coaching career at Taft School in Watertown, Conn., where she was the assistant junior varsity coach from 1997 until 1998. She was then hired as the head coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School. Besides her coaching duties at Northfield Mount Hermon, she was also an instructor in the physical education department and served as the chair for the Northfield Mount Hermon Parents' Council for Excellence in Athletics. Prior to working at Northfield Mount Hermon, she served as assistant athletic director at Westover School in Middlebury, Conn. Along with her coaching responsibilities Norman serves as the senior women's administrator, compliance coordinator and teaches in the Health and Physical Education Department. She and her husband, Patrick,
and daughter Kellyn live in Moorhead.
