1990 Cobber Women's Soccer

 Women's soccer alive and well

A stong group of seniors and an outstanding freshman class helped give the Cobbers their first winning season in women's soccer. After going 2-13 last season, the Cobbers posted a 10-7 record and came within a whisker of qualifying for NCAA postseason play. Dean Hashbarger completed his third year as head coach by guiding his team to a 44 record and a fifth-place finish in the MIAC. Senior Sara Pittorf, Burnsville, Minn.; Junior Deb Idstrom, New Hope, Minn.; and freshman Lydia Kabaka, St. Cloud, Minn., were all named to the MIAC's all-conference squad. Pittorf and Idstom each had 14 goals for the year. Kabaka had 13. Last season the entire Cobber team scored only 18.
