Ethan Pole - 1998 Pre-season Coach's Comment
ö Entering his third year as the starting quarterback, Ethan is poised to have his greatest year. An outstanding passer and dangerous runner, he is on track to set several records in his final year. A fine leader, he will serve as captain in 1998. 8/25/98 Ethan enters the 1998 season as the Cobbers No.1 quarterback and a team co-captain. He was 7th in MIAC passing in 1997, leading the Cobbers to a 2nd place league finish and an NCAA playoff berth. He earned the starting QB job midway through his sophomore season. 12/16/97 Ethan was named a Co-Captain of the 1998 Cobber football team at the team's annual awards banquet last night. The team captains are chosen by a vote of the team. The other co-captain for 1998 is Eric Stenehjem . 11/18/97 Ethan was named 1997 Second Team All-MIAC today 9/6/97 Pole split starting quarterback duties early in his sophomore year and then emerged as the starting quarterback. In ten games and seven starts he completed 101 of 187 passes (54%) for 13 TDs. He was 30th in the nation in NCAA Division III passing efficiancy (136.8) . His father, Brad, was the Cobber offensive coordinatior from 1991 to 1995. He is now the head coach at Luther College in Iowa. 8/20/96 Real Audio Interview With Ethan Pole
