Season Outlook/Notes:
The Oles field a young team for the 98-99 season, but will look to a number of juniors to provide leadership for the newer members of the team.

Last year was disappointing in the win-loss column, however, it was a rebuilding year under first-year head coach Sean Goldsworthy.  Coach Goldsworthy brought in a new philosophy and new ideas from which he wanted to build his team on.  He brought a more physical team to every game, and let the offense come from the more physical play.  “I was more concerned with getting my guys to tangle in the corners and stand somebody up at the blue line than I was with installing different power plays,” said the coach of his philosophy last year.

“This year, we are going to build on the physical-ness that was put in place last year, and now try and establish more of an offense,” said coach Goldsworthy of his team goals this year.
The Oles will be looking to be more competitive in the very tough MIAC and make definite strides upwards in the conference standings.  “We lost some real close games last year to some very good teams, now we have to do better than lose the close ones.  We have to be in a position to win them.”
