9/16 Concordia Drops First Game of Cobber Classic III.
Nebraska Wesleyan scored twice in the second half to put the game out
of reach, and beat Concordia 3-0 in the opening game of Cobber Classic
III. Wesleyan's Brad Schweer scored in the 40 minute to break the scoreless
deadlock and take the edge after the two teams played even for a half an
hour. Schweer scored again in the second half at 64:27 to put the Plainsmen
up 2-0 and they added a third at 71:09. Concordia keeper Kris Overby (Fr.,
Fargo ND, Fargo South H.S.) had 4 saves on the day while Wesleyan keeper
Jason Thurman had 2. The Cobbers play St. Scholastica tomorrow at 2:00
in the final game of Cobber Classic III and Wesleyan will take on St. John's
at 12:00.
