Andy Crook #17 (Jr., Elk River, Minn.) had a goal and an assist in Concordi'a 3-2 loss to St. John's.

Concordia scored two goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead, but were unable to hold on and lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to St. John's.

The Cobbers (4-4-1, 6-9-1) sprinted out to a 2-0 lead behind power play goals from Nate Ronning (Fr., Moorhead, Minn.) and Andy Crook (Jr., Elk River, Minn.) before the Johnnies chipped away at the lead, with a goal in each period, to hand Concordia the loss.

Ronning scored at 6:56 of the opening period to get the Cobbers on the board. Antonio Castaneda (So., Moorhead, Minn.) and Crook received on the Cobbers' first power play tally. Less than four minutes later, at 10:28, Crook struck on the man-advantage situation to give Concordia a precarious 2-0 lead with 49 minutes left to go in the game.

St. John's (2-3-2, 7-7-2) started to gain momentum when Mike Possin beat Cobber goaltender Jason Gregoire (Jr., Moorhead, Minn.) at 17:23 of the first to cut the lead in half. The Johnnies tied the game mid way through the second when Rick Talbot finished off a pass from Possin. The final goal of the game came at 12:26 of the third period when Corey Huck scored with both teams a man down due to penalties.

St. John's goalie Aaron Bulman held on for the final eight minutes to preserve the victory. Gregoire finished the game with 30 saves and Bulman had 27, as St. John's outshot Concordia 33-29.

The two teams will finish the series tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 in St. Cloud at the National Hockey Center.
