Bobby Clark (Jr., Seeley Lake, Mont.) put the first two scores on the board, running in from 7 yards out with 13:31 left in the first quarter, then running in another from 6 yards out with 10:02 remaining. Then quarterback Ryan Hebrink (Jr., Sacred Heart, Minn.) got into the action, racing in from 18 yards out with 7:53 to go, giving the Cobbers a 21-0 lead. With 6:29 left in the first, Clark notched his third touchdown of the game on an 18 yard scamper. With a 28-0 lead with less than 9 minutes gone by in the game, the second string offense came in, and put up another first-quarter score, a 5-yard run by quarterback Jacob Odermann (Fr., Belfield, N. Dak.). The second-string scored again in the first half, this time on a 9-yard run by Paul Nelson (Fr., Ada, Minn.) to give the Cobbers a 41-0 halftime lead. |

The Cobbers stormed from the gates, racking up 34 first-quarter points on their way to a 51-7 victory over winless Carleton. The first five Concordia drives netted touchdowns, each taking less than 1:30 off the clock.

The first-team offense came on for one more drive to start the second half, and Hebrink picked up his second touchdown of the game, a 32-yard run with 13:24 to go in the third. The third quarter ended with a 48-0 Cobber lead. With 10:06 remaining in the game, Brian Halverson (Fr., Fargo, N. Dak) added to his six PATs and kicked a 34-yard field goal to give the Cobbers a 51-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Drew Dean broke loose for a 65-yard return, setting up a 21-yard touchdown pass from Ben Cooprider to Erik Fisher, making the score 51-7, which is the way it ended.
