Bethel opened the scoring with four passing touchdowns from Scott Kirchoff, three to Joel Olson and one to Mike Johnson, to open up a 28-0 lead midway through the third quarter. Concordia (2-3, 3-3) answered on a 58-yard strike from Ryan Hebrink (So., Sacred Heart, Minn.) to Raleigh Schmidt (Sr., Tracy, Minn.) to come within 28-7, but Bethel put the game away with two more third quarter touchdowns, a 93-yard run by Mike Johnson and a 5-yard run by Scott Ylkanen, to push the score to 41-7. The Cobbers scored again on a 36-yard pass from Hebrink to Jake Olson (Jr., Crookston, Minn.) to make it 41-14, and the Royals tacked on another score on a 10-yard touchdown run by Jesse Dick to finish the scoring. |

Cobbers Blown Away by Bethel
48-14.
Bethel (5-0, 6-0) racked up 536 yards of total offense, and took advantage
of seven Concordia turnovers, on their way to a 48-14 victory in Moorhead.
Bethel opened the scoring with four passing touchdowns from Scott Kirchoff, three to Joel Olson and one to Mike Johnson, to open up a 28-0 lead midway through the third quarter. Bethel quarterback Scott Kirchoff finished with 213 passing yards and 4 touchdowns--three to Joel Olson and one to Mike Johnson. Johnson ended up with 187 rushing yards, scoring another touchdown on the ground.
For the Cobbers, Raleigh Schmidt racked up 79 receiving yard on 4 catches, and Joel Ferrie (Sr., Moorhead, Minn.) rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries. Ryan Hebrink completed 11 of 25 passes for 157 yards, but threw 4 drive-killing interceptions. Concordia also lost three fumbles, giving them seven turnovers for the game, which was uncharacteristic of the Cobbers, who had only given up four turnovers in the first five games of the season.

at St. Olaf.
